Privacy

just a bit uneven is a small independent game operated by Stefano Previato. This policy covers the browser game, the native iOS app and Just a Bit Uneven Beta. Updated 2026-10-17.

What the game saves

We store an account identifier, nickname, first-attempt scores, committed cut endpoints in shape coordinates, challenge dates and attempt progress to run the game and restore your progress. If you sign in with Google, we also store your Google account identifier and email. We never receive your Google password, and do not request access to Gmail, Drive or Contacts. Your email is not displayed publicly.

Sign in with Apple

If you choose Sign in with Apple in the iOS app, we store your Apple account identifier and the email Apple shares with us, which can be a private relay address. We never receive your Apple password. An encrypted Apple refresh token is stored only to manage this authorization and revoke it when you delete your account. We do not merge accounts by email; you can connect Apple from an account you have already signed into with Google.

Your browser

An essential session cookie keeps you signed in. Browser storage remembers tutorial progress, display preferences and unsent score updates. Guest accounts depend on their browser cookie; clearing it loses access to that guest account.

Your iPhone

The native iOS app stores its session cookie in the device Keychain so you can reopen the app without losing your session. It stores introduction progress and pending score updates in local app preferences. Pending updates are sent to the game server when connectivity allows. Guest progress depends on access to that saved session; optional Google or Apple sign-in lets you access your game account across devices within the same environment.

Beta testing

Just a Bit Uneven Beta uses a separate testing server and database. Beta game accounts, scores and rankings are separate from the public game, including when you use the same Google or Apple account. Playing the beta does not transfer scores to the public game.

For TestFlight builds, Apple collects crash logs and usage information and shares them with us. Apple also shares feedback you submit, which can include comments, screenshots, device information and your name or email address. We use this information to investigate issues and improve the game. This is separate from the game's own diagnostics described below. See TestFlight & Privacy for Apple's data handling details.

Hosting and diagnostics

The game and database run on our own server. Our hosting and network services process requests to deliver the game and diagnose failures. We collect limited gameplay diagnostics linked to your account: visits, tutorial progress, round outcomes, rejected gestures, replays, sharing actions, save timing and failures, and frontend error categories. These include the challenge date, nickname, input type (touch or pointer), app version and event time. Raw events are retained for 30 days and are visible only in our private reporting dashboard. These game diagnostics do not record your screen, finger movements, error messages, or advertising identifiers. Public daily rankings show nicknames and scores for signed-in players with qualifying first attempts. Google handles authentication when you choose Google sign-in.

Sharing results

Result and ranking images are generated on your device. When you choose to share them, the selected app or recipient receives the image or text, which may include your public nickname, score, rank and challenge date. The game does not upload these generated images to create a public image link.

Deleting your data

Open Your account in the game and select Delete my account and scores. This removes your active account and scores. Recovery backups may retain deleted data until their retention period expires. Please contact the operator if you cannot access your account.
